Industrial NMR Applications The CIA-MR is developing MRI hardware and techniques for a variety of industrial applications in the food and pharmaceutical sciences. MRI is a non-invasive method that examines products in their original packing. For a review of NMR and industrial applications you may want to read "Industrial Applications of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance" which is in a PDF format. If you do not have this viewer installed on your PC, you can download it by pressing the "Get Acrobat Reader" button. ![]() Researchers at the CIA-MR prepare to load a bag of cocoa beans in the 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner for analysis. A close-up of cocoa beans removed from the bulk container. These beans are being analyzed for water and fat content after being in storage for 5 years. ![]() MRI image of cocoa beans. The bean contrast originates from mobile water and fat protons. MRI is screening the beans for suitability for further processing. Go To Mounds Candy Go To Nutrageous Candy |
